BELIEVE
Blockchain applied to ELectronic voting for Electoral Verifiability
The project “BELIEVE: Blockchain applied to ELectronic voting for Electoral Verifiability,” a Scytl initiative, has been funded by MINECO and FEDER.
The Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Competitiveness (MINECO), within the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016, granted assistance to the project “BELIEVE: Blockchain applied to ELectronIc voting for Electoral VErifiability” led by SCYTL with the file number RTC-2016-4929-7. This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Competitiveness within the RETOS-COLLABORATION Subprogram, Call 2016. The main objective for this call is to promote technological development, innovation and quality research.
The overall objective of the BELIEVE project is the study, development, and application of the capabilities of blockchain as a mechanism to improve the verifiability of current electronic voting systems. This is expected to be achieved through the telematic publication of electoral audit tests in a distributed, open and secure manner.
