Directors Guild of Canada successfully introduces Scytl secure online voting

Sep 17, 2013

During its Annual General Meeting (AGM) election in Vancouver, the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) successfully introduced Scytl secure online voting for the organization’s remote members. During this election for Second Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer, DGC members who could not be present onsite in Vancouver were given the ability to cast an online ballot while members attending the AGM in person cast paper ballots. Online voting was not intended to replace attendance at this Directors Guild of Canada’s AGM; it was a way for the DGC to evaluate online voting as the future voting platform for the Guild’s AGM elections.

“We evaluated Scytl’s online voting option based on the following criteria: ease of use, flexibility, speed, process and turn-around time for providing the auditor the necessary reports,” said Marjorie Chu, Project Manager for the Directors Guild of Canada. “Scytl’s online voting solution 100% met these requirements during our evaluation. This election went very well. As a result, the DGC is now strongly considering replacing all paper ballot elections with online voting during future AGM elections.”
