Brasilia, February 24, 2015 – Scytl, the worldwide leader in election modernization, online voting and eGovernance technology, announced the successful use of digital certification for the identification of voters in the online elections held by the Real Estate Registers Association of São Paulo (ARISP) on February 13, 2015. Scytl´s innovative and unprecedented technology adheres to the requirements outlined by the Brazil Infraestructure of Public Keys (ICP-Brazil), increasing the security of online elections and allowing São Paulo registers to securely, privately and efficiently elect the association’s directors.

During the election which took place on February 13, 2015 between 9:00 and 17:00, all votes were cast online via the ARISP website http://www.votaregistradores.com.br. The over 300 voters were able to securely vote via their personal computers and laptops from anywhere once their identification was complete by means of the voters digital certificate.
“The election was a great success, and serves as an example for Brazil secure and efficient online elections in the private sector. Hopefully we will see the use of Digital Certification in the national elections,” concluded Flauzilino dos Santos.
