The FAC successfully runs their online election with Scytl

Brasilia & Barcelona – October 29, 2014 – Scytl, the worldwide leader in online voting and election modernization technology helps Brazil’s Federal Administration Council (CFA) successfully and securely run the election of their national and regional representatives counselors entirely online. After successfully realizing the benefits of online voting technology in the 2008 election, the CFA has continued to opt for this innovative channel for all ongoing elections.

The October 15th CFA System / CRAs elections took place between 12:00 am through to 8:00 pm, enabling voters from 25 states and the Federal District to cast their ballot in the time frame that best suited their needs. Elections for the 2 remaining states – Bahia and Alagoas – will take place on November 24th together with the state of Paraná where the election in the first round resulted in a tie. With a growth in participation of over 13% from the previous elections, the increase in trust not only in the CFA / CRA system election process, but the online voting channel efficiencies and security continues an upward trend.

The implementation of the online voting technology has been defined and minutely configured not only to comply with the Federal Board´s requirements to ensure an efficient voting process, but also to provide the most secure technology ensuring maximum integrity and privacy of the voting process. In addition to the joint deployment of the solution by Scytl and CFA, the solution underwent thorough external auditing to verify the solutions security robustness and compliance.

The election site Eleições CFA 2014  channeled more than 62,000 accredited members who actively participated in the election to easily and securely cast their vote from any internet enabled device. The entire election was administered via the online voting technology provided by Scytl configured specifically to cater to the needs of each phase of the election: from the election announcement, through to planning, the actual voting and the secure consolidation and publication of the results.
