Pere Valles, CEO of Scytl, the worldwide leader in secure online voting and election modernization, today announced the promotion of Richard Catahan from General Manager for Canada to General Manager for North America, responsible for leading Scytl’s sales and operations in the United States and Canada.
Responding to the US market needs in the adoption of end-to-end election modernization projects versus the more tactical implementation of single product projects, Richard Catahan will drive the deployment of best practices and customer success of other strategic election modernization projects across the region. Additionally, Catahan´s direct experience in online voting and eBallot delivery projects will help pave the road for the early pilots and technology alignment in the US in these areas, addressing the increased interest in the US for these technologies.

Marc Fratello, the founder of SOE Software, a US election company acquired and integrated into Scytl, continues as Executive Advisor for M&A focusing on identifying and assessing acquisition opportunities worldwide to complement and enhance Scytl’s portfolio. Supporting the new organization, Fratello will also be responsible for managing strategic customer and partner relationships in North America.

Catahan has over 25 years of experience in Project Management and Operations in both the public and the private sector. Prior to joining Scytl, Mr. Catahan was the Registrar of Canadore College, Chair of CRALO (Committee of Registrars, Admissions & Liaison Officers for Ontario Colleges) and a Strategic Advisor for the First Nations Learning Unit. Mr. Catahan has been featured in various Computer Magazines worldwide in areas related to ISO Methodologies, ITIL and Service Excellence.
