Barcelona, June 23, 2015 – Scytl, the worldwide leader in secure online voting and election modernization, continues to lead the way in supporting secure University elections with the new election held in March 2015 by the National Distance Education University (UNED). The adoption of secure online voting channel on their elections results in a continuing upwards trend in participation with an 8,2 % increase from 2013.

In 2013, the National Distance Education University (UNED) began working with Scytl on the deployment for a secure online voting platform to support over 700 online electoral processes including the election of the new Chancellor of the University. Since it´s deployment in 2013, the online voting platform is being used by it´s over 250,000 students and 10,000 professors for online University elections. Scytl´s Online Voting solution provides the UNED with greater voting flexibility, increases tallying and results publication and resource savings.
Key engagement and online voting adoption trends:
- June 2013 – Participation increase of 50% in the first online election vs. the previous 2009 paper based election.
- March 2015 – Online voting engagement trends growth of 8,2% vs the previous online voting election.
