Spain
The Ministry of Interior awarded a contract to the joint venture formed by Scytl, Vector ITC and ODEC for the gathering, processing and transmission of results for the European and local elections in Spain on May 26, 2019.
To carry out the transmission of data from polling stations to the national tallying center, 22,300 mobile devices with a reporting application were distributed, covering 91% of the polling stations. 5,558 stations communicated their data conventionally by telephone.
The processing of the results was an extraordinary technological challenge, given the technical elements and measures implemented, alongside the fact that European and local elections had not occurred simultaneously for 20 years.
This was the second time we were in charge of this project, after having managed the Spanish general elections in December 2015.
