Scytl implements automation solution in national parliament of South Africa

Jul 2, 2012

Scytl, in partnership with Datacentrix, has provided South Africa’s National Council of Provinces (NCOP) with its parliamentary automation solution. Designed to simplify parliamentarians’ work by integrating a session management platform with a vote automation system, the solution – implemented in April 2012 – will allow the NCOP to automate the preparation and reviewing of the daily agenda, the debates and the voting process during ordinary parliament sessions. With the aim of facilitating interaction and workflows, the 102 Members of Parliament, 5 Clerks and the President of the NCOP are equipped with 12” touchscreen computers that allow them to vote, view documents related to the agenda and request permission to speak. After having automated the African Union Assembly voting system in Ethiopia, this is the second parliamentary project that Scytl carries out in Africa, thus consolidating its leadership in parliamentary automation in the African market.
