Scytl Provides eDemocracy Security Insight at ICEDEG 2016

Apr 7, 2016

During the Third International Conference on eDemocracy & eGovernment (ICEDEG 2016) held in Ecuador, electoral security requirements were a topic of focus for all attendees. During the conference keynote “Security and Transparency in eDemocracy”, Jordi Puiggalí, CSO and SVP of Research & Security at Scytl presented the challenges and worldwide experiences on bringing security and transparency in the eDemocracy field, where verifiable and accessible technology is playing a critical role in opening gateways to full participation in electoral processes. Security and transparency are of paramount importance in any electoral process, avoiding data breaches such as the one suffered by Comelec in the Philippines by ensuring leading edge and end-to-end security in all electoral processes.

Organized by The University of Fribourg, Switzerland, ICEDEG is one of the most important conferences in eGovernment and eDemocracy in Latin America, a forum where academics show the latest tendencies carried out and supports the exchange of knowledge as well as democratic processes to put digital public services at disposal for citizens and organizations.
