Scytl shares best practices for disabled accessibility via online voting

Nov 26, 2013

During the recent seminar “From eVoting to eGovernment”, Scytl shared the floor with European experts, contributing with insight and best practices for enabling citizens with disabilities to participate in elections remotely, securely and independently.

The conference hosted by Microsoft and the European Disability Forum (EDF) centered on discussions on technology and legislation both to enfranchise voters by enabling accessibility to vote, and providing more innovative engagement and information channels.

Key interactions centered on the availability of existing technology and how it is currently being implemented for secure and transparent voting for citizens with accessibility issues. Scytl´s online voting projects that cater to enabling visually impaired and other voters with disabilities using WCAG 2.0 AA standards were of great interest and will be further shared in the next upcoming experts seminar sessions.
