Scytl’s Pnyx passes penetration testing conducted by US federal government

Sep 5, 2011

Scytl recently participated in a penetration testing exercise in the United States sponsored by the Federal Voting Assistance Program and run through the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). During this event, professional security and penetration testing experts worked with students at AFIT to attack the Scytl’s Pnyx voting solution. During the 72 hour period, these ethical hackers attempted many sophisticated and large scale attacks but were unable to compromise any aspect of the solution. This included SQL injections, cross-site scripting, website crawling and spidering, automated detections, password cracking and many other customized tests. Scytl is very proud of its record of security which is built from its years of pioneering research and development in the election security field. The testing took place at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
