Scytls technology will be used in the first Internet voting experience of Swiss absentee voters

Apr 14, 2008

For the first time, the Swiss Confederation will allow its citizens living abroad to cast binding votes over the Internet. For this first experience, the Swiss Confederation has chosen the Canton of Neuchâtel, which has been successfully using Scytl’s Internet voting technology in their consultations and referendums for its resident citizens since 2004. On June 1, Neuchâtel will make its secure Internet voting platform also available for absentee voters living in one of the countries members of the Wassenaar Agreement and will become the first Swiss canton to allow Internet voting for its absentee voters. This decision strengthens Scytl’s position as the Internet voting provider with most advanced security technology.
