Víctor Hidalgo, Scytl’s European pre-sales manager, has recently presented on the current state of online voting at a course on Catalan electoral law, organized by Observadors per la Democràcia (ODEM). Víctor’s talk served as both an introduction to electronic voting – covering the advantages online voting has over paper-based methods as well as the technology involved to ensure the security and privacy of an online vote – and an explanation of the steps required to begin implementing online voting.
The presentation, which took place on October 21st, was the penultimate of six seminars prepared by ODEM over September and October. The electoral law course was also supported by the College of Political Scientists and Sociologists of Catalonia, and was open to the public, free of charge.
