The ongoing use of Scytl Online Voting in France is backed by the highest levels of security and verifiability together with extensive independent audits. In addition to the security best practices implemented in France, the focus on ensuring accessible voting for persons with disabilities and secure voting from devices (PC´s, smartphones, tables, etc.) has been key to the success of the adoption of the online channel by French voters.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Scytl Online Voting has been used by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct secure, accessible, auditable and transparent elections for French citizens living overseas. Scytl´s best practices have been deployed in 7 MAE elections (including the 2012 Parliamentary Elections) to secure French expatriate voters full voting access, overcoming the hurdles overseas voters were facing.
Ministry of Education: With over 3 million votes securely cast and more than 1,600 sub-elections managed by over 100 electoral boards, the French Ministry of Education continues to leverage Scytl Online Voting to carry out the French teachers union representatives’ elections. Once again this represents the largest public binding election ever carried out over the Internet, the only channel available for their elections.
Ministry of Interior: The latest ministry to adopt Scytl Online Voting in France in 2014. In order to assess the validity of eVoting as an alternative to traditional voting, the Ministry of Interior deployed the eVoting channel for their PRIF and CAPN elections, with the enablement of the complete end-to-end voting process, including full independent auditing, detailed verification that the voting system and processes were those defined and full dynamic security testing.
