Scytl’s Brazil Team Delivers Online Voting Under Full Confinement

Apr 27, 2020

Scytl’s team in Brazil recently helped doctors and medical professionals from the Unimed João Pessoa cooperative vote online in an association election. This feat is all the more remarkable considering the fact that the project was carried out entirely under complete citizen confinement in Brazil, due to the current Coronavirus outbreak. With Scytl team members working from home, a secure online voting platform was configured within a week’s time and was successfully implemented in the cooperative’s fist ever online election.

The voting period took place during an 8-hour window on Saturday, March 28th, with over 82% of the cooperative’s members casting their ballot through the online voting platform. This high participation rate is a clear sign of online voting’s potential, given both the current quarantine measures and the high demand for doctors and medical professionals at this time. With Scytl’s secure technology, Unimed João Pessoa was able to offer its members an efficient and transparent voting solution, ensuring election accessibility and surpassing the current challenges posed by CoVid-19.
