March 8th is International Women’s Day and we at Scytl acknowledge the importance of elevating women within our company and within the technology industry. As part of our ongoing Equality Plan, we remain committed to developing policies that integrate gender equality into the work environment and ensure equal and attractive hiring opportunities for female talent.
Currently, Scytl stands out from the tech industry in a number of ways. Two-thirds of our Executive Committee members and 37% of our team managers are women, both well above the industry average for women in leadership positions which stands at 24% according to a 2019 IDC study. These numbers also reflect our continuing efforts to encourage gender parity, with a 14 point increase in the percent of mangers who are women over the last 5 years. Additionally, women make up over a third of Scytl’s entire workforce and more than 50% of certain teams, including Research, Operations, Human Resources, and Marketing. The theme of the 2022 International Women’s Day is “Break the Bias,” and there are certainly many biases that prevent women from participating in the technology industry, or deter them from even trying. We must work together to demonstrate that women do belong in tech, that they can lead our companies, and that they can drive innovation.
